Q. Why do I need Insurance?
A. As a Storage Facility, we do not know what you are storing, nor do we take custody of your possessions (remember it is your lock and your key!) Our insurance covers damage to our facility, we are not liable for any damages to your property. Tenant insurance, if you choose to purchase, covers your belongings.
Q. Won’t my homeowners or renters insurance policy cover my items while at your storage facility?
A. Many of these policies do cover your possessions while at a Storage Facility. Check with your insurance agent for details, exclusions, and deductibles.
Q. What kind of Insurance protection do I get with this policy (typically)?
A. Fire, Theft, Water Damage*, Smoke Damage, Vandalism, Windstorm, Lightening, Explosion, Earthquake*, Hail, Riot, Building Collapse (damage by flood is not covered, and loss due to earthquake is subject to a $1000.00 deductible.) Please contact Deans & Homer for details.
Q. What is the maximum amount of coverage offered and when does coverage start?
A. The maximum amount of insurance provided is $50.000.00, and starts when you pay your first months premium. Your policy stays in effect as long as your premiums are paid and kept current.
